So it’s that time of year again… we’re nearing the end of Summer and what better way to make the most of the outdoors and the last of those balmy evenings than at a music festival! Yes, festival season is upon us; a time to crack out those wellies, tasselled shirts and floral hair garlands, soak up the last of the summer sun (and frequently, embrace the rain) and dance long into the evening listening to some of our favourite bands. Speaking of which, if you love live music and the outdoors then a festival-vibe would make a wonderful wedding theme… think garden marquees, relaxed floral arrangements and rustic décor, cider and pimms aplenty, music until the early hours, and if you want to embrace the theme whole-heartedly, tents for tipsy guests to rest their heads for the night.
With that in mind, here are a few ideas to inspire…
For drinks, jars make a quirky alternative to regular tumblers, with patterned paper straws added for a fun twist. Keep floral arrangements as relaxed and natural as possible – place in mix and match vases and pots for a bohemian look, as well as wellies to express the festival theme. I particularly like the very unique drinks bar above, made from a reclaimed wooden boat! This is the perfect theme for reclaimed or homemade objects – giving off a carefree ambiance is what embodies the ‘Wedfest’ look.
